The Firearms Industry Experience that Links us All

It is so valuable to gain a global perspective on all things guns. The politics. The legalities. The socio-economic factors. The regional preferences and behaviors. And, of course, understanding the shared appreciation for firearms and all things related. What really ties it all together are the people and their shared appreciation for free will, a love of nature and even the essence of sport thru competition in some cases.

In one country on the other side of the world, sport shooters’ needs and interests can be a bit different than somebody living down the road from me. Maybe they are hunter gatherers. Or, they are protecting their homestead and their family or cattle herd. And then, there are the outdoor sportsmen who cherish an early morning in the serene confines of the woods, with or without friends. From humid tropical conditions to the sandy, dusty climates, as humans, we all have these interests in our nature – some much more so than others. It is a bit primal, but then again, we aren’t that far removed from our nomadic ancestors. The search for food sources, recreation and comaraderie are still there. That, and our natural instinct to defend ourselves. This is all true.

When I meet people from around the world who own gun shops, or who supply such retailers, from one end of the world to the other, they share this understanding of shared values. It isn’t that complicated until governments get involved. It is a business, and a sport and a matter of self defense. And within these circles, there is mutual respect and friendship.

Everybody’s life is different, but this industry brings people together globally in a place of understanding. Of shared experiences, and of knowledge. Without such people, there would be a lot less direction for the greater population that is yearning to be educated on some level to continue a heritage, if you want to call it that. Knowledge really is power, especially when you can learn without ever turning on a television or watching internet content meant to distract you from the hard realities of life.

If you have a .22 cal. hunting rifle made in one country and you run cleaning brush of the same caliber down the bore made in another place, and it fits, that is proof that we share something. We are talking about the same thing. The very philosophical nature of this thought is fulfilling to me.

Widespread gun ownership does pose some risks. It may force us to live in a polite society free of one world order control.
