Almost every day I hear from somebody who, despite their commitment and love for sport shooting and of course their many guns, too many people get lured into the trap of making bad choices when it comes to gun care.

Old, low-tech solvents and lubricant choices.

Frustration with results met with repeating these mistakes with a strange loyalty to names and smells well beyond the possibility of common sense.

A strange pride if not a stubbornness in sticking with what doesn’t work.

And then there is the more topical issue – not following directions – and not getting themselves out of bad habits. Firearms training is understood but not improving their maintenance. I hear this too often and it amazes me.
