In the news, on one hand, for those who follow firearm related stories, there is talk of NFA, suppressors and endless second amendment court battles being initiated mostly by the anti-gun lobby. You know, the hypocrites.
And on the other hand, outrage against this controversial hardware which has already been taken out of the hands of people in many countries. Historically, that has proven itself to be forewarning of bigger problems for the rights of individuals.
More so lately, we are seeing liberal minded peaceful protestors adapting into righteously exempt possessors of firearms to the point of demonstrating a newfound interest in threatening or even following through with violence against law and order. Of course, in the name of their interpretation of justice on behalf of the unjust. Conveniently embracing 2A rights if not privileges out of self-proclaimed necessity as if they know what they are doing.
As a nation, we are tackling the unsolved issue of mental health while motivated liberal activists take to arms with licensed or unlicensed guns onsite, open carry, concealed carry or attempting to disarm and repossess arms from Federal agents … because, you know, that’s going to end well. At least the lawlessness is passionately supported by spineless politicians who will expose themself in any manner necessary to secure the next pool of votes – legal or illegal – it doesn’t matter for the contemporary virtue signaler.
I find it all very disturbing as I fear for the outcomes for our nation. Violence is not the answer, nor is lawlessness, and elected officials have to be held accountable for inciting insurrection. Is this statement controversial? Maybe it is in an insane world. Unfortunately, you couldn’t build enough prisons or mental institutions to address these problems.
That being said, we need to temper our own fervor for authentic righteousness, lawfulness, faith and patriotism (which by the way, isn’t a dirty word). Our nation needs clear minds, sensible approaches and an across-the-board commitment to making things right, and that will take consensus from all rational people that transcends one people over parties.
There are no easy answers. No blueprint. No accord, currently. But we must not lose our heads for as Benjamin Franklin said at a critical time during our nation’s founding, “We must hang together or surely we shall hang separately.”
Until then, don’t forget that the right to bear arms – the right – must be defended by all, but in a law-abiding manner, with only the best of intentions in mind. And yes, all firearms need a thorough cleaning and superior lubrication. Had to put that in.
