As opposed to its stronger firearm cleaning products, Tetra Gun care also offers an all-purpose, water-based cleaning solution made to remove carbon fouling as well as gun lube and bore solvent residue.

The Cleaner Degreaser has no fumes or strong lingering smell that some other products have, and it is gentle on the skin because it is buffered to pH neutral. Don’t let the water-based solutions fool you into thinking it isn’t good enough to get the job done, because it definitely does.

When we say light duty use, we mean for those sport shooters who are not putting that many rounds down the barrel, and more importantly, are not damaging the metal parts will accumulating fouling and even worse, solvent residue which can be your biggest culprit. So, if you use high-quality synthetic gun lubricant and do at least a wipe down after every range day, then you shouldn’t need anything stronger, especially in the pistol category.

Safe to use on most nonmetal surfaces though all gun cleaners are meant for use primarily on gunmetal. However, powder residue does find its way onto polymer and other firearm parts surfaces. Either way, it comes off.

We recommend that the firearm cleaner degreaser is applied liberally with the use of clean, dry clothes or cotton patches, followed up with nylon brushing or bronze brush material when needed. As an alternative to gun cleaning rod, patch or swab use, you can also go the Bore Boa cleaning rope route.

This gentle detergent cleaner features very low residue formula when wiped off thoroughly. It also has a built-in rust inhibitor to protect metal surfaces before lubrication which should always been done soon after. Naked metal is literally exposed to the environment, so stay on top of it and complete the firearm maintenance mission on your handgun, rifle and/or shotgun parts.

The cleaner degreaser is also available in a gallon container for either a parts washer or ultrasonic gun cleaning machine. And yes, it is non-foaming.
